Annual events calendar in Salon-de-Provence

Published on 2 September 2026 · 2 min read

Provençal Week, Liberation Day, summer concerts, Christmas markets: the events that mark the year in Salon.

Salon-de-Provence keeps the Provençal calendar alive all year long. Here are the recurring events to look out for when you book your stay at number 33.

Spring: Provençal Week

In early May, the Semano prouvençalo celebrates local identity over about ten days. The highlight is the Fête de la Transhumance, a large parade of nearly 1,200 sheep, goats and horses accompanied by folk groups in traditional dress. Around the parade: a Provençal dictation contest, a grand aïoli, Salon en Fleurs on place Morgan, and children's activities.

June: agriculture and music

  • Salon des agricultures de Provence — early June at Domaine du Merle, with more than 200 exhibitors, tastings and demonstrations of local produce.
  • Du Son à Morgan — a free concert in mid-June on place Morgan that kicks off the summer festivities.

Summer: festivals and open-air evenings

From June to August the town publishes its Summer Guide: more than 150 free or ticketed events, from concerts and exhibitions to guided tours and shows. The Soirées au Kiosque in August are open-air dance evenings. On 22 August, the Fête de la Libération commemorates the town's liberation by Allied troops in 1944.

Autumn and winter

  • Grape harvest and olive festivals — estates and cooperatives in the surrounding area host events from September to November.
  • Christmas markets and nativity scenes — in December the town centre lights up and santons return to homes and squares.
  • Weekly markets — Wednesday mornings from cours Gimon to the allées de Craponne, and Sunday mornings in the town centre, all year round.
